Lilo can not be booted without a Linux. Therefore you need to boot up Lilo first and place it in the MBR to multi-boot other system. The command is
Code:
lilo -b /dev/hda
Lilo is very much like Grub except you must run the Lilo command every time you amend /etc/lilo.conf. Lilo compile the boot loader every time you make an alteration to the configuration.

Thanks for all the help guys. I was able to get a CD-Rom attached to the system i need to boot from a CF card and install RH9 on it. I got RH9 to install in about 512MBs of the CF space, and had the rest for storage. Since the CF pluged into the computer i am using over the IDE Linux sees it as a standard HD, and doesn't complain at all about boot from it, just takes some things a little longer do to the fact it takes longer to write to a CF card.
