Booting Error


why am i getting this error on booting Ubuntu? I basically installed the latest kernel and configured the config myself select my drivers etc.

Custom built and configured kernels have a tendency to fail during the first attempts. There is a significant difference between the things you think will work, and those that really work.

Before tinkering too much at this early stage, start with a very plain kernel without too much drivers, or rather try to rebuild the standard kernel of your distro, and than proceed by adding custom choices and drivers a few at a time.

Once upon a time building kernels was fun (but slow on those old PC's), but now the kernels are so much more complex, that avoid doing it, if possible.
