Dear all,
I have compiled a new kernel, entered the same in grub.conf also. While i am rebooting and chose the new kernel to boot i gets the below error without booting in. Booting 'Red Hat Linux (2.4.20-8yasin)' root (hd0,0) File system type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83 Kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8yasin ro root=LABEL=/ Error 15 : File not found press any key to continue... Please check the attachments too. I have googled a lot and tried, but still i cannot resolve my issue. |

Also, 2.4 is a VERY old kernel...this isn't by chance your futile attempt to get Red Hat 9 working on new hardware, is it? EDIT: Yes, it apparently is, since Red Hat 9 used (amazingly), kernel 2.4.20, just as you posted here. You need to use a current, supported version of Linux, and quit trying to use an 11 year old operating system on new hardware. |
