Boot-Up Problems

I'm having problems booting-up, as my fstab is totally knackered. I booted up and got as far as mounting SMB filesystems, a new one of which I had set up in the fstab since the last boot-up, but it refused to go any further. I shoved the RH9 CD1 in and rescued, edited the fstab so it no longer included the SMBFS entries, saved and rebooted.

I no longer have a Linux partition as far as anything is concerned. The rescue can't find a disk and I am totally stuck. Can anybody give me a hand?

Cheers,
Dan

where is your linux partition kept? if on first harddrive

in the rescue console, make a dir /hda1

then 'mount /dev/hda1 /hda1' without quotes

then cd to /hda1

see if your partiton comes up then...

if it dosent, try cfdisk.. it will show you your available partitions

then you can check out firther
