Boot to USB

Hi, and thanks in advance.
This is my first post although iv been "lurking" on this site for a while now. So thanks for all the help.

The problem I have is iv got a fairly old computer that wont allow me to boot from USB drives. I was thinking, is it possible to make a boot CD/floppy that can be directed to a mounted USB drive and boot it that way.
Has anyone seen a program that can do this already.
If not how would I go about making such a thing (thinking of a lilo type scenario). Sorry if this has been asked before.

Code:

kernel /plpbt.bin
you can get it here
