boot s-ata raid

hi everyone!

I got a new computer with a serial ata raid controller, now I try to install slackware but the boot-cd kernel doesn't support this type hard disk controller... anyone knows how to get this working? should I compile a custom kernel for this or can this be done in an easier way?

thanks,
