Boot menu...how to delete Distro in menu

Hi..I am having a problem installing a distro..
Some background..Have installed many disto's on my desktop computer..for some reason..its showing up in the boot menu as ..1 distro I don't use any more as secure boot..how do I delete this..assuming I go into Bios ..how do I remove please.

Tried to install new distro .keeps coming up with error messages and stops..
Probably installed 60 distro's on machine..
All single boot..none dual boot..

I hope this makes sense..

Your user icon says that you are using Ubuntu (or a derivative thereof). In that case, you would be using the Grub boot loader. This link may help:

If you are using some Ubuntu derivative, run sudo update-grub and if the distro that is showing in the menu is no longer installed, it will not show up in the menu. If you are installing one distro at a time, I'm not sure how you would have this problem. Are you installing them to different partitions. Also, it might be different if you have an EFI install?

Hi..thanks for the responses ..not using partitions..using primary Linux Mint..17.2..updating to 18..its not the disc as I installed 18, on another computer, using the same disc so thats ok.
I don't think I have EFI..although sometimes I just click here and there ..if never used distro before..
Will run..sudo update-grub and post back with results..

This was done using Mint 17.2 just now..so I don't know what I am reading..thanks

The output in your last post shows one kernel and one initrd file plus the standard memtest files. That is standard for a single operating system with a single kernel. So you should see only one entry and possible a Recovery option plus the memtest option.

If you want to try out different distros, perhaps virtualbox running inside your favorite distro might save some time.
