Boot loaders

Which boot loader do you use and why?? I

personally use Grub, for no particular reason at all, I just closed my eyes and picked it when I installed RH. Is there a better choice out there to dual boot a 'nux and win98 system?

Personally I like Lilo.. reliable, simple to setup and use and more are familiar with it when you need help.

I did try grub on my RH build, but as it completely ignored my *cough*windoze*cough* setup and refused to accept my attempts at editing it I took the drastic step of reinstalling the whole bloody thing just to get LiLo back which is a doddle to set up, figure out and amend.

In short LiLo all the way.

Hmm... I guess from a casual Linux user's stand point i don't really understand the difference between the two (I'm not a programmer!), at least not superfically anyway. I was a little concerned when I installed Grub because the book that I bought with RH didn't even mention anything about it. But I decided I would give it a try anyway. It hasn't given me any problems...yet.

I use lilo because I'm used to it, I find it easy to reconfigure if necessary, and it works just fine. :)

I use GRUB, exclusively. Never had any joy with LILO, probably due to my own fumbling, nonetheless. I must disagree that GRUB is hard to make changes on, it's simply a matter of adding lines or subtracting lines from the configuration file. You don't even have to run anything after making a change -- it simply works :D !!

If GRUB works, use it. If LILO works, use it. They're only boot managers (among many!!), not your OS.
