boot into non-X mode

Hi all,

I installed RHL 9.0 on my machine. Selected graphical login as default. I'm using this for hosting a site with Apache and MySQL.

Now, I need to change the default login mode to text mode, not graphical mode. How do I do this??

I tried the "init 3" command but when the machine changes to runlevel 3, the MySQL and HTTPD services stop. Is there any way I can change the default login type to text mode as well as start HTTPD and MySQL?

Is there any way I can change the boot mode from graphical to text and vice versa?

Please let me know.

In text mode, run ntsysv. Check httpd and mysql services.
Remember ntsysv set different services in graphical mode and text mode.
If that does not help you, you can use /etc/rc.d/rc.local stuff.
