Is this a new installation?
Have you been using Fedora 12 and just encountered this problem?

try dmesg | tail or so
What's the output of the above command?

Not really the place for "step-by-step" commands, since there are many places to find how-to guides and tutorials, but we can help. However, you omit alot of crucial details that would LET us help.

What changed? What happened on your machine to make it do this? Have you tried booting from CD/DVD, and going into rescue mode, to see if your files/filesystems are there? Have you tried just looking this error up on Google, or on LQ via search, since there's lots on it:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=232908
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...kernel-898605/

From what I've read, it seems like you've either re-compiled your kernel incorrectly, or your hard drive is having a problem. Since FC12 is about two years old at this point, an upgrade to the latest version wouldn't be a bad thing if your hard drive has died.

You read the link(s) I posted to you in my first reply, and follow the instructions. Which may not work, depending on what you've done to your system, and you've still not given us any details, or answered any questions.

You BUY A NEW HARD DRIVE, and install it, obviously.
