/boot/config <--What is it?

I'm wondering, what is the purpose of the /boot/config file?

Thanks,

Brian

Your kernel config file.

Does anything reference it for any purpose? Or is it simply there for my reference to how my stock kernel was built?

When you want to compile the latest kernel, it uses /boot/config. Though you have to run make oldconfig in the kernel directory.

Ahhh! That answers another question of mine! I was eventually going to ask wha make oldconfig did.

Thanks. ;)
