boot and login problems

I got Mandrake 9.2 Beta from a friend a few days ago and got it set up and installed, had it loading into KDE without any problems, until i switched everything onto a new motherboard. I had to reinstall and setup everything the same but it only loads to the command prompt. i made the mistake of changing the date and time in the CMOS after setting up and it expired my account, im not able to run super user mode or login as admin to do anything. a very very big thank you to whoever can help me, im new to this

i dont know any way to change root from non-root without logging in using single-user mode and then changing it.
