Boot And hard disk failure on installation

Hello. I'm an amatuer user of linux and i recently
decided to switch from mandrake linux 8.2 to Redhat
linux 9 Firstly is it possible to simply delete the partitions i was using for mandrke and re-use them for redhat? .Secondly My source downloaded it and wrote it and
installed to his machine. I got the same cd's but cd1
doesn't boot so i made a copy on my hard disk, made a
book disk but even then, given the harddisk option of
were and which partition and directory the
installation is on I can't locate the *.img files it
asks for (during Installation) though when i browse the CD (in windows) i can see them. Can you please give me step by step routine
to follow if the cd isn't bootable?
I'm using a DELL Inspiron 8100 1.13mhz,256mb RAM and
30GB.I have 7GB reserved for linux. 4 NTFS partitions
and 1 FAT32 partition. I copied the all the linux cds
to an NTFS partition should i change the location to
the FAT32 partition?
Please send as detailed as possible
Thank You

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Newbie and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

Yes, it's ossible to remove your current partitions and use the space for new installation. You can do it from the installer.

For hard driver installation you should follow https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/...nstall-hd.html
It says that NTFS is not suppoered for this type of installation (ext2, ext3 and fat are).
