bookmarks transfer - dual boot - how?

Hi.

New to linux with a dual boot system - windows XP and Suse 10.0 on an x86_64 machine. Wondering how I transfer my old firefox bookmarks from the XP partition to firefox on the linux partition. Treat me as if I know nothing!

Thanks in advance.

Just open Firefox, go to the bookmarks-manager and choose export.
Then import them in windows.

It doesn't matter what I mean cause if you export from win and import to linux blah.. firefox. It will always end in a bookmark.htm that you can import.

would exactly overwrite the bookmarks in windows that johnpaulodonnell would want to save/export to linux.
So export from windows and import in linux ..

Of course, this being linux, there are probably several ways to achieve what you want.
I just linked to my old windows bookmarks like this:

First, make sure your windows partition is mounted at boot time (you'll need an entry in /etc/fstab to do this.
Then put this line into your linux browser address bar
Code:
file:///mnt/windows/path/to/your/windows/bookmarks.htm
and press return.
You should see your windows bookmarks in your browser where you can R-click and "Open in new window".
Now you can bookmark this bookmarks page, and call it "Windows Bookmarks".
This has the advantage that if your windows bookmarks change, you do not have to re-export them and you'll still see the changes when you are back in linux.
