Bodhi asking for login details before i've even installed it
Hello there.
So im very new to linux and have decided to repurpose some old unused laptops and put linux on them.
I'm having trouble with a Dell Latitude D600 and Bodhi 2.4.0 32bit nonpae
Created the boot disk fine and made sure it was the right one after having learnt that 32 bit wasn't enough i needed the non pae version.
It starts booting just fine i choose the option to boot from the live cd a loading screen pops up and then it takes me into a white screen asking for user name and password. Tried just bodhi32 as the user but no joy.
Its strange as i have installed bodhi on another machine just recently and this page definalty didnt come up. Just the page where you pick the user name.
The laptop is an old work one of my dads. It was running xp and needed a user login to get on that. I think i may need that password for some reason. Thing is i dont know it. And i imagine my dad has forgot. Its about ten years since it was last used.
Would i really need the old xp login deets and if so is there not anyway to bypass this? Looking to wipe the hard disk and do a comepletly fresh install. Dont need to save any files.
Are you sure it's Bodhi asking for a log-in? It sounds like the BIOS is ignoring the CD and taking you to a Windows log-in. Try starting the computer without the Bodhi disk and see if you get the same screen.
It's definitely bodhi, screen has bodhi written on the background with a logo.
On the bottom of this log in screen there is also what looks like a start bar/shelf with option to change the environment, language and also a shutdown button.
It's almost like bodhi is running in a love session from the cm but needs me to log in. Even tho I haven't had chance to set up any log in deets for bodhi yet. And it's not connected to Internet so yeah struck me as kinda weird.
