Bluetooth exchange between phone and notebook: howto make the setup?

hello, I have a samsung phone and would like to send a foto to my asus notebook.
The asus notebook dmesg show:
Quote:
[ 25.250570] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 25.250573] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 25.250575] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 25.250582] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[ 25.253551] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3
[ 25.253556] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast
[ 25.323080] ppdev: user-space parallel port driver
[ 25.343758] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[ 25.343767] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[ 25.343770] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.11
So, probably it is possible to receive files..
But when I search bluetooth devices from the phone, the notebook cannot be seen. Any quick advice how to make running the communication is welcome. I will further search in the net for any advice.

I have Slackware and won this battle recently.

On the phone, you need bluetooth on, and something like Bluetooth File Transfer from the play store (I am presuming Android).

On the pc, you need a bluetooth driver, hcitools (bluetooth utilities), and bluezd. Perhaps also bluetooth firmware on some chips.

Switch on Bluetooth on the phone, and set yourself visible. Lasts about 2 minutes on my phone. On the pc, run (as root IIRC)

hcitool scan

10 seconds later you can see the phone. Handiest to handle pairing on the Android. Linux/Androids won't pair up with Apples.
