Bluetooth
Hello all,
I am having trouble with Bluetooth mice. I am running Ubuntu 8.10, If I click the Bluetooth icon on my Gnome panel and then click the Add button, my notebook computer scans for available Bluetooth devices and finds two mice and a mobile phone. When I add any one of the mice, it will add the device and then an "i" icon is shown at the right of the device name in the bluetooth devices list. From here, the mouse does not work. I have tried two mice. Both mice are working fine on a Sony VAIO notebook running same Ubuntu. Both mice also behave same way if I reboot this notebook into Vista (Vista detects the mice but the mice will not cause the mouse pointer to move). Is my bluetooth hardware broken? If so, how come it detects the devices? If the hardware is broken, how do I prove this to DELL? (its a DELL studio notebook which is still under warranty) Cheers, Greenie |
Well, obviously if the mice fail to work in both Linux and Windows it must be a hardware issue. The fact that they will work on another computer eliminates the mice, so what's left is what's wrong.
Do other bluetooth devices work on this machine? |

I am wondering how I convince DELL that the notebook is broken and not the O/S |
