blocking port 111

will

-A input -p tcp 111 -j REJECT -l

set up the firewall on port 111....or do i have to make sure all ranges source and destination is covered?

-A input -p tcp -s 0/0 -d 0/0 111 -j REJECT -l
(i think this is the syntax)

ultimately i'm trying to setup a firewall around port 111 (sunrpc) any help? thnx

Why are you doing it like this? If you are serious about a firewall you should close off everything and then open up the ports you need.

The syntax is more like:

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 111 -j REJECT
