Blank display after setting desktop enhancements in Fedora 9 - KDE

Ok I am posting because I am unsure how to find this answer. I made some changes to the desktop like fading windows in and out and things like that. After doing this I can no longer login and see my desktop. X is working and I am logged in as root right now to post this. I get the login prompt and when I login with my user account I get blankness.

Who can tell me what file to delete or modify to reset my user display preferences to normal?

Another noobish question...shouldn't it ask questions and have a timer when changes are made like some other OS'es?

Delete (or rename) your hidden .kde4 folder.

KDE4 is still being developed. Extra functionality is introduced with each new update/release.

Nexus,

Thanks for the help. This was what I needed. For anyone else out there also running Fedora 9 KDE...the folder is called .kde and not .kde4. Deleting this got me up and running.

Really? I don't doubt what you are saying. I was under the impression Fedora 9 was a KDE4 only release.

Can anyone else confirm that under a 'pure' kde4 install the folder is .kde and not .kde4?

Just for clarity purposes.

BTW, I'm glad you got it sorted :)
