Posting your question in two threads doesn't make it easier to answer...

Anyway,
Did you install your kernel source/headers (kernel-devel)?
If not, install the kernel-devel rpm (for your current kernel) and redo the nvidia-installation.

how do i install this kernel source ?
and when do i get it?

Read my reply in your original post ;)

i installed kernel-devel-2.6.18-8.el5.i686.rpm

and typed #setenforce 0

and still get the message

"ERROR : Unable to find the kernel source tree for the
currently running kernel. Please make sure you have
installed the kernel source files for your kernel and that they
are prperly configured ; on Red Hat Linux systems ,
for example, be sure you have the 'kernel source' or
'kernel-devel' rpm installed. if you know the correct
kernel source files are installed, you may specify the kernel
source path with the '--kernel-source-path' command
line option"

Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate.
