Black screen after installing nVidia driver

Hi.

I've recently installed Fedora 4 and decided I just had to get a new display driver, becouse runing your computer in 800*600 mode isn't fun :/
I've followed all tutorials I've found and they all are very similar.

Code:
 Sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7664-pkg1.run
The installer runs fine and installs the Driver.. and no errors or anything, now the tutorial say I have to edit my xorg.conf.. and tell me that I have to remove two lines and replace one

Remove "dri"
Remove "GLCore" <--- dont have that one
Replace "nv" with "nvidia"

ok.. I do that I save the file and I exit the editor.

Im still logged in as root becouse If I try to start x as a normal user they give me an error telling me "perhaps you dont have console owneship"
well I'll just log in on x as root and see if it works.. and after that I'll just change initdefault back to "5"
I type startx in the terminal and get a blank screen.
I get no errors, nothing that might indicate what's wrong.

well with thanks in advance for reply's *kisses*

Here is something that may work though you won't get 3d acceleration

change nvidia back to nv... think you can put load "dri" back in but not opengl.. not sure

go farther down in your xf86config (or xorg.conf) file and where it says "640x480" and "800x600" add "1024x768" after each spot

then when your back in xwindows press and hold Ctrl Alt and - (minus)

good luck
