Bittorrent help


No probs installing the latest Bittorrent in my Slackware......when i go to Torrentspy and download torrents, I have the option to open the program directly...I do this on my XP box....my problem is that I have no idea where to point Firefox to the bit torrent application...what am i looking for , some .exe file somewhere???

I don't know which bittorrent client you installed (bittorrent, bittornado or azureus) so can't tell you what to do. However, you would have to place the .torrent file anywhere you like and then start your bittorrent and open that file. I recommend you use azureus which is a java-based bittorrent client...nice and easy to use.

I think you can only use the command line with the default bittorrent.

btdownloadcurses.py /location-of-torrent/filename.torrent

btdownloadgui.py url-to-torrent/filename.torrent
Although the "btdownloadgui" would require wxPython or wxGTK...most probably wxGTK. You can get those packages at www.linuxpackages.net
