Best way to learn....
 
I'm looking for a book to read or I've even seen some training cds for newbs and linux. What do you guys recommend as far as learning the basics and then some.

I recommend the book Running Linux and the Red Hat Manuals.

Red Hat Linux 9 Bible

even if you're not a RH fan it's a worthy reference manual to start with.

Linux in a nutshell, is also a good reference book to have around.It has a good list of commands.
Hanging around these forums is also a really good way to learn. hth.

Opening files and learning how to navigate thru the file system as !!!!NORMAL USER!!!! is what I have found to be the best way to learn for me atleast. :D
