Best way to install SUSE 9?
Is is better to do an FTP install or Download the ISO's and burn them to a cd?
I am leaning towards spending a night a downloading the ISO's since I have a feeling I may be installing it and unistalling it quite a bit...as is typically the case with me :-) But then again if the FTP is really fast hey thats less work for me kinda... Thanks Mike |
As far as I know, ISOs for SuSE 9.0 aren't available. If I'm wrong, I'd like to know where they are.
As far as the FTP install is concerned, I used a UK mirror, and it was fairly quick; about two hours from start to finish for a full install via cable connection. |
try this
www.filemirrors.com now heres the sneaky part... go to the suse website, and click on there ftp servers. find the ISO's. Copy the name of the iso and paste into the search bar. Remove all tags AFTER the .iso and bam you should get a list of servers. some allow you to download from them others do not. I did this with my Slackware isos. Mike |
Interesting. I poked around for a while, but could not find filenames for ISOs on Suse. I did find some potential ISOs on filemirrors, but nothing readily accessible.
FTP install was good enough for me anyhow. If I really need the disks, I'll buy 'em. |
That may work for Slackware, but SuSE doesn't have any official ISOs
