Best Linux for Open Foam program

What is best version of Linux for Open Foam fluid calculation?
Finite element calculation for fluids with graphic display.
Have downloaded Knoppix to make live CD and did not boot.
What is the sequence to make live boot CD from Windows XP?

thanks,
Edward

Open Foam is a program that requires Linux to operate.
I am attempting to make a Linux live CD to operate from any computer
that would normally have Windows XP or Vista.
I downloaded iso version 3.1 of Knoppix. Copied *.iso to CD
Inserted CD in reader and restarted computer.
I did not see any display on the monitor to indicate the disk had been read. No other response from computer visible.
Is another program required to convert file to boot format?
What else am I missing?

I would imagine any Linux distribution would be "capable" of running the software, however it would be best to check with the software vendor to see what they recommend.

Could you elaborate further on this? Did your PC try to boot the CD? Did it boot the CD then hang?

Again, we will need more information in order to help you. Are you trying to burn an .iso image?

The more you put into a forum post the better the response you will receive.

Example, Nero, burning a 'file.iso' :
Please use the option "Burn an Image" or "Burn as an Image".

Knoppix 3.1 is from 2003,, That's pretty old.

Knoppix 6.0.1 is the current version..
