Best flavor for intel mac? WINE?

Hi.

Two questions.

First, are all flavors of Linux game to run on an intel mac. I have heard good things about Ubuntu. Is that flavor going to work?

Second, there is this program I want to use that is written for Windows. I don't currently use Windows and it doesn't work on mac either but the writer explains on his homepage that you can run it, "under Linux, using WINE." Is WINE inside every version of Linux?

TIA for any replies!

I user Ubuntu and has worked fine for me. It's quite user-friendly. As about wine, you can get it really easy with any Linux distro.
