beryl or compiz-fusion on fluxbox

Why I can't launch beryl or compiz on fluxbox? Is fluxbox also a window manager?
I got this message while run beryl on terminal

Code:

beryl: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0
beryl: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

I'm using fluxbox on freebsd machine.

Compiz/Beryl replace the existing window manager, so you have to use a GUI which has separate components for the WM and UI (docks and the like).

As FluxBox is one monolithic program, there is no WM that can be replaced while retaining the FluxBox UI, so it won't work.

The only GUIs in which you can use Beryl/Compiz (to my knowledge, at least) is KDE, GNOME, and XFCE.
