Beginners Question about Aptitude
 

Thanks to Dead Parrot I have a decent document on Aptitude.

But, I have a Newbie question.

This time I loaded Debian Sarge without a desktop.

The Aptitude document says to run Aptitude I have to open my favorite text terminal.

Unfortunately, I do not know what a "text terminal" is. What is a text terminal and how do I open it.

Also, do I have to be in Root to use aptitude or can I use it in a normal user login?

I'm not a linux guru, but I think it's a normal terminal.
You have to be root, or you have to be in the sudoers file(i'm not sure about this one).
