BCM4400 problems in Slackware 10.0

Anyone know what my problem is here? I'm trying to configure my eth0 with no luck, after makeing the network drivers in Slackware 10.0 I get this:

Quote:

root@darkstar:/home/dman3000/src# /sbin/insmod bcm4400.o
Warning: loading bcm4400.o will taint the kernel: no license
See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules
bcm4400.o: init_module: No such device
bcm4400.o: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
dmesg tells me nothing.

Ummm ... forgive my ignorance, why are you compiling
from source rather than using the broadcom driver supplied
with Slack 10's 2.4.26 kernel?

Thanks for the reply, as if I could get those working that would be just as good.
when I did a
Code:

/sbin/modprobe b44
I simply ended up with no output and nothing worked after, I'm not sure I have the B44 driver installed for some reason (although it is supposed to come with it). Am I preforming the right command? I may try reinstalling slackware as I may have missed something.

If you get NO output from modprobe that's exactly
what you want ... it only gives output when something
goes wrong.

As for the "nothing works" ... that's probably still a
matter of netconfig

netconfig eh? :D

I'll fool around w/ that and see how things go, thanks for the help so far. :)
