bcm43xx_microcodes.fw" bug not lettin me install ubuntu 7.10
hey there,
I am using vista currntly on hp pavillon, AMD 64 Athlon X2 with 1470 mb ram. I have been trying to dal boot m laptop with both vista and ubuntu 7.10 wih vista already ntalled. After running the live CD of Ubuntu 710 i keep getting this error msg "bcm43xx_microcodes.fw nable to load" followed by a frozen blank screen. I dont really know what to do here. can anyone help me out to sove this problem. thankx in advance. |
Well I'm not sure why that error should cause a freeze or blank screen, that just means the microcode for the Broadcom wireless driver isn't installed which would be normal.
I suspect another issue. I'd suggest selecting safe video mode, or using the options at the bottom of the screen to change to the vesa video driver and see if that allows it to boot. What video card are you using? |
I have now followed this tutorial a few times with good results. (Right down to, and including Problem 1.) http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ireless+feisty
