battstat driving me mad
Hi everyone (again)
The battstat monitor on redhat 9 is making me crazy, i think the problem is that i don't actually understand what i'm doing :( I have put the icon into the toolbar (i know it just takes one right click but that took me 6 hours!) but it doesn't work. The apm command returns: AC on-line, no system battery And the icon in the toolbar seems to reflect this with a little plug when its plugged in and a red ! if i unplug. The whole time though he battery is red and nearly empty. Please, can anybody help? i though it would be a case of downloading an acpi rpm or typing "acpi=on" ("or apm=on") into the grub.conf. But none of this has worked and i'm starting to wonder exactly how i'm going to be able to connect to the internet if i can't even read my battery levels  Anyway, its probably time i slept, thanks in advance... oookiezooo |
Ok, no replies, then let me ask another question first, i installed the latest acpi rpm from sourceforge, but it doesnt seem to have made any difference, should it have created a file called acpi? if so where? its not in /proc/ or /etc/ where i was expecting to find it
Thanks again, oookiezooo |
