Basic GTK stock_icons won't be changed after recompiled from source?

Hello All...

This problem is very confusing me... I just recompiled gtk+2.10.0 for puppy linux 4.1.2 from the source code that I downloaded from sourceforge.net.

Before compiling it, I have edit "stock_icons" in the hope that such stock_icon's will be changed after recompiling it.

But... ups, recompiling seems succeed... but when I test it with run /usr/bin/gtk-demo then I get that stock_icons won't be changed...

I have also recompiled the ROX filemanager, it also get the same matter that all stock_icons won't be changed.

What's is wrong?

Perhaps you or all senior be so kind to help me to solve it...

Hi, Agrouf, thanks for the link.

But it do not seems problem with the current theme in case that ROX filer does not use icon theme from /usr/share/icons, but, ROX has its own icon theme placed on sym-linked directory ~/.icons/ROX

I'd mean:
On gtk+2.10.0 source there is directory [package]/gtk/stock-icons, which contain icons in *.png format. Here, I have overwriten all these icon images with same names but with newly that I've got from "oxygen" icon themes. My perpose is, after recompiled then current stock icons should be changed... but... as I found they never changed.

I have prepared all needed devel libs too.

gtk uses your theme icons from gtkrc when present. You can change the stock icons there, no need to recompile the whole package.
