after some simple instructions or tips to begin to master the command line rather then just 'point and click' cheers |
This is a good spot to start: RUTE User's Tutorial and Linux Commands is another. Also, go to the Linux Documentation Project for lots of free information and books for download.

Hi,
You could look at the links in 'Linux General Help' section of 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links! Plus look at the next four links; |
All of those resources will help, but the best way is to actually use the command line interface to manage a server. Most anything you can do with point and click you can do via command line. Try not to use the gui unless you absolutely have to. Sometimes the gui cannot be avoided. We had some SAN software that had to be installed via the gui so you could interface with the software but this is the exception not the rule.
I prefer the command line, after a while I'm guessing you will to. :D |
