bash scripting: dialog --inputbox


i was making alittle script and i ran into a problem

i had
echo -n "blah blah blah? "
read $so

and i want to do the same thing with. dialog --inputbox
but i dont know how to get the inputed data to be put into $so, the man page didnt really help.

ok after some minor research I found that when you
call read it sticks the stdin in to a variable called $REPLY
which you can reasign to $SO
so I did this
read
SO=$REPLY
echo -n "$SO"
and it worked just fine plus
also you could do a
read so
echo $so
which will also work for you.
also you can set the prompt with -p enter time or what ever
