Bash Script

Hi,
I have a question.I would like to create a bash script to use as a shortcut for my programs. For example;every time i need to use amsn, i need to open the console and got to amsn directory and run it from there.I want some type of a shortcut on my desktop. Is that possible with bash scripts or do i need to do anything else.

Thanx in advance...

Can you tell us what window manager you are using? You should be able to pull it off without resorting to a script.

Try right-clicking on the desktop and create a shortcut using the full path to the app.
