Bare bones install with KDE3 and internet browser?

I'd like to get started with linux by trying out just the newest GUI and a web browser, to see if I can get a "feel" for it.
Whats the smallest and easiest to install distro with KDE3? The default packages are too big, and It's hard to tell which ones are needed, especially for just xwin and internet connectivity.

When you say default packages, which distro are you talking about?
You might want to try knoppix (www.knoppix.de , don't worry, it's not in german) for a live-cd distribution based on debian. You get the latest kde, loads of browsers and a good feel for linux.
