Bandwidth Shaper
 
I have Fedora9
I downloaded bandwidth shaper and try to install but its giving me some other software also like apache,perl,php,my sql etc

i already have apache(httpd) and i downloaded the mysql and perl but when i go to run perl rpm or my sql rpm or php rpm it tells me that i have to install some dependent softwares when i download those dependent softwares and try to install those it again tells me that i also need some dependent softwares :( what the hell is this.....
plz help

is there any bandwidth sshaper software other than delay pools or bandwidth shaper which is strong+easily installable(freeware)

thanks but this is very limited software. How could i limit particular IPs or a range of IPs


2nd thing when i am trying to install it. it is giving me an error but having install.
ERROR: failed to start /root/.gvfs : Transport end point is not connected

I was not suggesting this - I was guessing what you where talking about.
"bandwith shaper" is giving you trouble - but at least I didn't know what particular piece of software you where referring to - and I still don't know.

There may be a lot af programs out there which are giving you a GUI or otherwise try to make the task easier.
But in the background of most ... iptables + tc are at work - these can do all you want.
