bad sectors !!!! cannot burn with cdrecord....

HI,
Just yesterday when i started my machine i discovered that my c: partition had developed bad sectors.
On the other partition i have linux which unfortunately is not working as it shows file system errors. I ran e2fsck but still the problem persists. The only thing i can do at the moment is boot into single user mode or rescue
mode in linux .But When i issue the command mkisofs it says "command not found ".Unfortunately both my / and
/usr partition filesystems are corrupted and i see no way of repairing them.i tried to use the dd command to backup my data by dd if=/dev/hda1/data of =/dev/hdc

but it says driver not found

pls help if there is any way of backing up my data as i cannot boot into windows neither can i into linux. Also the hard disk is making weird sounds...

i tried to copy the manufacturers low level utility (hutil.exe in my case) to the hard disk from my floppy. But it says "Disk Write Error "

pls help....

Don't keep trying other steps!!!! Call the manufacturer and find out whether or not you can send the drive to them so they can get any data that is left off of it. From the sound of it, there is no more hope of saving the drive, and any more attempts by you to get info off will just destroy more. If the manufacturer can't do it, look around for other comp. businesses(certified, not home) that offer the services to do this. You will most likely have to wait awhile to get your drive back, as this is a rather complicated process.
