Bad burn process->bad Linux media?

If you do have a fine Linux iso image on your hard drive and you burned it, is it possible to get a bad media afterwards?

i'm still struggling with the RH Linux8 install.

are you saying that your cd isn't being read, or that the installation isn't going well?

oh, and if possible, i would suggest you try to get fedora rather than redhat, it's worlds nicer.

my problem is all about RH Linux 8 disc 1. the installation doesnt go well. it stops. the disc failed in the media test. just wondering if a bad good Linux iso image can be altered during the burning process and result to a bad media.

you could try just mounting the images on the hard drive and installing from there. Never done it myself, but I've seen plenty of stuff on google about doing this for fedora. here's one but there are plenty more out there.
