Bad block relocation
 
I am running RedhatAS 3u5, which is connected to XP12000 storage.I have two LV created on the XP. I was told that the XP handles bad block relocation and if any relocation takes place linux will not be aware of this as linux also has bad block relocation switched on.It was recommended that bad block relocation be turned off. If this is the case how do I switch off bad block relocation on linux.

Use the lvchange command. For example:

lvchange -r N /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01
