helo everyone
namrata here
i m very new to this redhat linux enterprise 5
so no idea how to install etc
so i have downloaded one mplayer rpm package n stored in d desktop but dont no how to make dat run
so people over here i need ur help
pls guide me with thorough steps to make d above run
n let me feel a lil bit proud by sharing ur knowledge

First, spell out your words, and write clearly. Your post is hard to read and understand. Also, please pick a more informative subject for you posts, other than "bad"....

If you have an RPM package, install it either through the terminal ("rpm -i <package name>"), or via the GUI. You say you saved it to your desktop...if you double-click the file, an option should come up, allowing you to install it.

To install the rpm
as root
Code:

cd Desktop
rpm -ivh whatever.rpm
