Welcome to the forums. There's really not enough information here to answer your question.

You probably should post from where you downloaded the disk image file, and which exact file you chose if there are several shown in the link. Next you should post what your specific system specs are, so that people can tell you whether or not you downloaded the correct disk image for your machine and processor. And finally you should describe exactly how you created your bootable media, perhaps you've made an obvious error but are unaware of it.

Here's a guide to assist you in the future with formulating better questions to help get answers

Backtrack 5r3 is an old version. The OS name was changed to Kali Linux 2 years ago.
The current version is Kali Linux 2016.1

fareed it is premature for us to say if it is a board problem or the boot-media problem.

Anyway, have confidence, you got the attention of two good helpers in the forum, rtmistler and knudfl, so follow the advice given above by rtmistler. If there is no hardware hindrance to use the recent version follow the link by knudfl to "Kali". Be sure check the md5sum of downloaded image before you burn it.

Come back for more questions.
Have confidence, we are willing to help you or anybody.
