Backtrack 3:install problems,command not found,maybe wrong wifi card
 

well im a total noob in linux
i want to make a dual boot laptop with xp-backtrack 3. i made a partition for xp and installed xp. i made a swap partion and two ext3 partitions for backtrack. i cannot set my swap partition so i skip that step and hit a "command not found"and cannot go any further.

im running my bt from a bootable cd and want to test how long my encriptions take to break on my wireless ap. i open up my shell and type in "airodump -ng" and get "-bash: airodump: command not found".

my wifi card is intel corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG which i think will not work for what i want. my wifi card works and accesses my router thus connecting to the net.

anyone i'v been googling for hours just as i find some explanation something goes wrong.
at least can someone solve my install problem?

I have used the instructions here: http://kin.calvin.free.fr/blog/?p=16 to successfully install BT3 in a configuration similar to the one you describe.

On your airodump-ng question, if you quoted what you typed in, then the problem is that you put a space between "airodump" and "-ng". The command should be "airodump-ng". If I've misinterpreted, please let me know.

@amerbgd: have you checked Google and search for HDD installation of Slax? Since it is similar I think the method will be the same. The one from jphilput seems good to try.

As for helping you to run certain programs and installing 'proper' driver under BT, we are sorry this forum's rules would not allow.

For anything else, we can try to solve.
