Back Track 3 Live CD hangs during boot [...looking for data directory]
 
Hi,
I recently created an bootable live CD of Backtrack3 with correct md5 cheksum. However it hangs while booting from it at the line :
".. Looking for data directory"
Checked all available workarounds on net like turning acpi detection off, vesa etc. It works well on my friends HP compaq presario notebook. Plz. help. Thanks in advance.

System Specifications:
Intel Core2 Duo cpu 2.2GHz.
RAM:4GB
Installed OS:Windows Vista Ultimate SP1/Red Hat Fedora Core 9
Hard Disk: Hitachi HDS721616PLA380 ATA (160GB)
Display Adapter:NVIDIA GEFORCE 7050/NVIDIA nFORCE 610i
DVD:SONY CD-RW CRX320EE ATA

re burn the cd and slow your burn speed down then repeat
just because it has the correct md5 cheksum does not mean it will read every byte . use your f1 or f2 buttons to see if there is special features for different hardware.

Thanks for reply Draeko. But the CD is working fine on my friend's laptop.:cry:and launching the KDE desktop. I think its the problem of my hard disk. I read in one forum that BT3lack support to some SATA disks. However any more suggestions are welcome.
