I am trying to install Linux (different versions but currently Mandrake) on an old computer. I can boot from CDs and I have had a perfect install with Redhat 7.2 (Which I crashed but don't want back)
The problem is I have a Wearnes proprietery Cd-rom drive and no other Distro will boot from it. I have tried a boot floppy but when it tries to read from the Cd-drive it fails.
I know that it needs an aztcd driver but the only information I can find is for people who have already installed linux. How do I make a driver floppy.
14.5. CDROM Device Drivers
14.5.1. aztcd: Aztech/Orchid/Okano/Wearnes/TXC/CDROM driver
This is a driver for the Aztech, Orchid, Okano, Wearnes, TXC, and CDROM devices (which have special non-SCSI non-ATA interfaces).
modprobe aztcd aztcd=0x340
address of base I/O port
Read Documentation/cdrom/aztcd in the Linux source tree for full information.
Oh, I was going to give the address but I'm not allowed as it's my first post.
Sorry if I've not made that clear, if you need more information to answer just ask.
