Not sure what your last quote meant....?
1. Was it meant as a party joke
2. Or was it just do discourage the rest and keep it to the selected few?

Anyway... Downloaded the "Latest Version" of UBUNTU.... lets see what happens...

2. No, that would not be nice.

The joke was my response to what alli_yas wrote in this post.

@jackalt007 - cat was just joking around with me.

Please don't take personally - one of the LQ rules is that members don't attack other members or "discriminate" in who they help. I'm sure cat was not being nasty towards you

Tried to install the latest version of UBUNTU 10.04..on a PC.... The live cd works.... but when I try to install it....it just does not start up into anything when the restart to complete action is placed..... says something about grub....

Unfortunately saying just "something" doesn't provide good leads for troubleshooting like posting HW specs, knowing if the HD is shared between OSes, knowing where the bootloader is (or should be) installed, booting your install/Live CD choosing "Recover a broken system" or even a cam or phone screenshot of the actual error message could.
