Automounting options

Hello all!

I am in the process of converting my fiancee to linux, and as she is not very computer oriented, I wish to make things as easy as possible. I remember when I was using Red Hat years ago, when I inserted a CD, USB drive, or other such item, The device not only automounted, but it also created a folder on the desktop as the mount point. How can I make this happen for her in OpenSuSE 11.2?

Hi,

On Opensuse 11 these should happen by default.

But if it is not happening then you can define mounts in the /etc/fstab file and ask the user to run the command mount -a when need to mount something

Or

Create a Shell Script and provide a front end to it on the Desktop, give a relavent name and ask the user to execute the script when needed.
