Automatic start of kde at startup

Hi !

When starting Mandrake 10 I get to the prompt. There I have to insert my username and password. After that I have to type "kde" in order to start kde and begin using Mandrake.

My question is: Which settings is to be made in order to make my system start up kde automatically without typing username, password and kde?

Login as root (or 'su -') and open the file '/etc/inittab'. In there you should see:
Quote:

# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:3:initdefault:
Change this to:
Quote:

# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:5:initdefault:
