Question Automatic Mounting of NTFS

Interesting problem here, I can mount my NTFS partition manually, but when i included the following line in etc/fstab

mount -t ntfs /dev/hda5/ mnt/windows

on bootup the following error pops up,
"[mntend] /etc/fstab line 7 error"

which points to that line of code to mount the NTFS partition. The NTFS is not mounted.

I'm running Redhat 8.

any ideas? thks

/etc/fstab is not a script. Its' structure is different. You should write something like:
/dev/hda5 /mnt/windows ntfs defaults 0 0

Easier than copying and pasting Mara's line?

I personally think linuxconf screws more people over than it helps. To easy to jack things up if you don't know what you are doing. Just my oppinion though

Cool

Because you don't have ntfs support in your kernel

Check out this page
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/redhat.html

Cool
