Automated installation

Guys, I have a problem I hope any of you could help...

I am trying to experiment on using Kickstart to install red Hat Linux on my system... I already made the ks.cfg file... But when I try to run it, it doesnt work...

Procedure:

- loaded ks.cfg on my boot disk
- booted my pc with my boot disk
- typed "ks=floppy" on startup
- error found was

VFS:Cannot open root device ""or 08:41
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernal panic:VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 08:41

Guys, any idea how I can fix this? thanks

enable VFS in the kernel, it's in the same place as RAID from memory alternatively tell it where the root is

For details try this:

www.google.com/linux and paste this:
VFS:Cannot open root device ""or 08:41
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
into the search box

Thought this guy has a problem, and not solved it (yet) he does have some stuff to say about your error message, dunno if it's right, but maybe it will get you on the right track
